In 2023, I worked on the layout team on the 2024 reboot of Ren & Stimpy for Paramount+, which is pending a release. I provided preliminary layouts with a small team of talented artists and eventually moved into the paint department under the supervision of Mark Whiting (The Iron Giant, Duck Dodgers in the 21st Century).
The first half of the contract, I had worked with two other layout artists, designing whole episodes with another artist, or sometimes completely solo depending on its complexity. Layouts are designed around all field guides present, and include layout animations and proper layering.
For the second act of my contract, I joined roughly 6 painters from across North America. A standard episode would be shared between two artists and had roughly a month per episode to complete.
I was asked to design a few font types throughout the season and was encouraged to push the styling. I've always enjoyed creating font types and it was pretty special to create some new ones for this show.
